Jacob's Paragraphs

Jacob brought home some work to do from school. It resulted in the following paragraphs. Enjoy.

January 10, 2011
Three things I want to change this year are our address, play sports, and walk to school. I will be moving to Omaha, and I’ll have a different street, a different house, and a different school. We will be moving in June. I want to play baseball at my school if they have a baseball team. I think it will be fun when I pitch if I strike out the batter. There won’t be any school buses so I have to walk to school. My new house is close to my new school. Those are the three things I want to change this year.

My favorite type of weather is when it snows. I like the snow because it’s fun to play in. I do snow angels, snowball fights and a snowman. I like to go sledding too. It looks super pretty. I might have some snow days. Even though I have to shovel, snow is still fun. That’s why I like the snow.

My favorite movie is Toy Story 3. It’s thrilling, shocking, and funny. My favorite characters are the aliens. I like them the best because they are super funny. The best part of the movie was when the aliens dropped the claw into the trash so that the toys wouldn’t burn. I also liked when Mr. Potato Head said “You have saved our lives. We are eternally grateful.” That’s why Toy Story 3 is my favorite movie.

July and January have a lot in common. Both months have holidays with fireworks. Fireworks are awesome. Both months start with the letter j. So does my name. They both end with the letter y. Those are some things that January and July have in common.

Once upon a time, there was a snowman named Harold. Harold lived in my front yard with his snowdog, Buster. One day Harold and Buster got out of the yard. They went to go get hot chocolate. When they got the hot chocolate, Harold drank it and started to melt. He ran outside as quickly as possible and he froze in the shape he was in. When he got back home, I remade him and Buster. I even made a snowwoman named Sharon. They had a happy life together. The end.

In winter, you need to wear warm clothes. Long johns are long underwear that keep your legs warm. Sweaters keep your arms and chest warm. Mittens keep your hands warm. Hats keep your brain warm. Snow boots keep your toesies warm and dry. If it’s really cold, you can wear a scarf to keep your neck warm. Those are the clothes you need to stay warm in winter.

It’s hard to choose which superhero I like because they are all so awesome. Aquaman can communicate with sea animals and he can breathe underwater. Superman has a whole bunch of powers. Only one of them is my favorite power. He has the ability to shoot lasers out of his eyes. Batman has a cool motorcycle, the Batmobile and the Batcave. Spiderman is cool because he can stick to the wall, he has strength and he can shoot webs out of his hands. The Green Lantern has a ring that he can make anything out of. A laser shoots out of it and the laser takes the shape. And it’s super durable. Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Falcon, Silver Surfer, Invisible Woman, Thing, Mr. Stretch, Human Torch, and Wolverine are all really cool too. Those are my favorite superheroes.

If I could meet someone famous, it would be Robert Downey Jr. because he played Tony Stark in Iron Man. I would tell him that I am a big fan of Iron Man. I would give him a hug and tell him that I am glad to meet him. Maybe he would let me wear the Iron Man suit and ride in his Lamborghini. Maybe I’d be able to go to one of the movie sets or even be in one of the movies. That’s who I would like to meet.

What I would like to change in our world is to make candy one of the main foods. For breakfast we would have Hershey’s chocolate. For lunch we would have Wonka’s Fun Dip. For dinner we would have Paydays. We would be able to chew gum in class without getting in trouble. Kids would also tell adults what to do. That’s what I would change in this world.

I do not like doing homework because it takes too long. I would rather play outside. Homework isn’t fun. Unlike playing which is fun and gives you exercise. I’d rather be watching tv, mauled by a bear, or eaten by a shark. I really, really don’t like doing homework.

The chore I dislike the most is taking out the trash. I have to take it out at night. It’s a long way down to the road. Plus, the trash stinks. The dogs bark at me and I get scared. Once I get the trash down, I run back to my house. It will be better at our new house because our house is really close to where I’m taking the trash out to. That’s why I dislike taking out the trash.

My new school is much different than Wesley Chapel Elementary. The first thing that is different is that my school will have steps. The school has three floors. Every kid has a locker. Breakfast is free for everyone. There is a children’s museum across the street. There is no school bus, but there is a city bus that we can ride. We also have to cross the busy street at the lights.

The person who has been the nicest to me is my mom. She makes me food every day. She gives me lots of hugs. My mom also helps me with my homework. I like to snuggle with her when we watch movies. Sometimes she takes me places that I want to go. She is the best mom ever.

If I was the teacher for a day, I would tell the class to read after they do their work. I would give them a couple of worksheets and they could read the rest of the day. Except for specials and lunch. We would go to the fitness lab every day. I would get a vending machine for the classroom. I would give the classroom money instead of learn and earns so they could go to the vending machines. If you were on green, you would get $5. If you were on orange, you would get $1. If you were on red, you would pay the teacher all the money that you earned. That’s what I would do if I were teacher for a day.

Once upon a time, there were two friends named Joe and Mike. They were the best of friends. They would do everything together. If one couldn’t go to something, the other wouldn’t either even if it was their last chance to do something. But one day, they had a huge argument about who should play with the new toy truck first. They weren’t friends for a month. Then finally, Joe’s sister said, “Why can’t you just share the truck?” Then they made up and they were friends again. They played with the truck for the rest of the day. The end.

The President of the United States is Barack Obama. He is the leader of our nation. He is in charge of the military. He rides in Air Force One. He has a wife and two kids. The wife is called the First Lady. They all live in the White House. That’s what I know about the President of the United States.

I would like a remote controlled plane for my birthday. I could fly it around. If it had a cockpit that could open, I could put my army guys in there. I’d fly it in the house sometimes. I’d fly it outside when they went on missions. My birthday isn’t until September 5th, so I have a long time to wait. I also want some more army guys. That’s what I want for my birthday.

The most important person in my life is God. He created all of us. God created us a certain way to do certain things. He gave us our personality. I think God did a great job on me. He made me special and gave me a great sense of humor. He also made me smart and funny. That’s why God is the most important person in my life.

If I had three wishes, the first thing I would wish for would be to have a mansion. I would want super powers and an endless money supply too. I would use the endless money supply to buy my super lair and a super mobile. My super power would be laser eyes and the power to fly. I would live in a mansion like Batman. My mansion would be 10 stories high. I’d have 100 bedrooms. That’s what I would wish for.

The best thing about school is the G-force bar at lunch. It is the most delicious thing ever. It is a fudge bar from Heaven. It’s made out of fudge brownie mix with glaze on top. Mama mia, it’s so good. I wish I had those every day. That’s the best thing about school.

When I grow up, I want to be a fire fighter, a comedian, or an astronaut. I’m still trying to decide. If I were a fire fighter, I’d save lives. It’s very dangerous. If I were a comedian, I might bust your bladder. That would be fun. If I were an astronaut, I would explore planets. That would be pretty cool. That’s what I want to be when I grow up.

My favorite movie is Ghost Rider. My favorite part was when he said “Look into my eyes. Your soul is stained with the blood of the innocent. Feel their burn.” Then they scream. Then they see what they did to all the people that they did something bad to. After that, it shows their eyes like rocks with red lines. The villain was Black Heart. Ghost Rider is my favorite movie.

The best thing that I do is make people laugh. I’m very good at it. People laugh at most of my jokes. They also laugh when I do my crazy dances. When I grow up, I might be a comedian like Jeff Dunham, except not a ventriloquist. I like it when people laugh at my jokes. It makes me feel happy. Making people laugh is what I do best.

Valentine’s Day is a day when you have a chance to tell someone you love them. I gave everyone in my class a valentine. I got valentines and a lot of candy. I love candy. My grandma and grandpa got married on Valentine’s Day. They love each other very much. They have been married for a long time. Valentine’s Day is about love.

We need teachers to help you become smarter. They know a lot. We need to be smarter so we can grow up to be teachers, doctors, and paramedics. If we didn’t have teachers, we wouldn’t be as smart as we are. Teachers are important. That’s why we need teachers.
